FAQ's
Is it possible to reserve a piece? TOP Yes. If you see something you really like, but you are not 100% certain (for whatever reason), that you would like to purchase it, you may reserve the piece for 7 days. I will put up a 'reserve' note on the item's description for those 7 days until you have made up your mind. Just send me an email to reserve a piece. Savaryis@comcast.net. Can bracelets be resized? TOP Yes. Upon purchase, I will send you an email asking you to measure your wrist comfortably with a string or to measure an existing bracelet. I can modify most bracelets to fit. It is no problem to resize it upon receipt, if the fit is not spot-on, however shipping to and from me will be paid by the client. Please include $4.85 postage with your check. I will resize your bracelet up to 2 times free of charge. However, should you need to have the piece resized more than twice, I will need to charge a small fee to cover my time.
Are discounts available for multiple item purchases? TOP In response to client inquiries, I am once again introducing a multiple
purchase discount option. Many clients consider purchasing more than 1
bracelet, and in an effort to offset cost and to reward clients, I will
work with you to discount the entire purchase. The actual discount
varies according to the pieces selected, as some pieces are priced
closer to cost than others in my collection. Please contact me with
your intended selection & I will be able to advise your whole
purchase discount before you make your final decision. I would love to work with you. Please contact me!
Do you do custom orders? TOP
Yes! I love doing custom designs and have done quite a few of them. I would just have you write some thoughts, colors, visions for the piece and I would create a design accordingly.
Often clients would like me to closely replicate a design which has already been sold. Since the lampwork beads are all original & individual works of art, I am usually able to do this, providing I am able to order more beads. While the piece won't be an exact copy of the 'sold' piece, it will closely resemble it, but with a few touches making it your own 'original.' If I should need to order lampwork beads, I will ask for a $50 non-refundable deposit to commence the custom order process. This may be paid by Paypal or by check.
Custom designs usually take 3-6 days to complete once I have received the lampwork beads and depending upon backlog. Custom bracelets normally fall in the price range of $275.00-375.00, depending upon lampwork beads, gemstones, sterling or vermeil gold components used. You can name your budget at the outset (base price of $275.00 and more), before I have begun the design. After I have finished designing and creating your piece, I will email you a Shutterfly.com share of photos of the piece for your final approval.
Custom children's pieces are an option and I love this work since White Tideline Designs began with my 'Storybook Collection' all those years ago. As a special word of caution, please don't leave a small child unattended with beaded jewelry, as beads can be a choking hazard.
Custom Earrings:
It is possible to request custom companion earrings to bracelets I create, which are not already part of a set. These normally fall in the price range of $45-$75.00. I will email you photos for your approval after completion. Once the earrings are done, only minor modifications are possible.
Please send me an email to get the custom order process underway. Savaryis@comcast.net.
Do California residents have to add 8.25% sales tax? TOP
I am accountable to the IRS for White Tideline Designs, however as a courtesy to my clients and until the end of the current year (2009), I am currently paying the 9.25% sales tax for my California customers. What forms of payment do you accept? TOP I accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover & American Express through a secure Authorize.net digital gateway. Paypal is another option as well as checks via snailmail and with the appropriate bank hold.
Are repairs possible? TOP In the unlikely event there is a problem with any of my pieces, I will gladly repair the piece without a fee within the first 6 months of purchase providing the piece is in the same condition it was sent to you. Following that, a small fee will be charged to cover time and materials.
Folks often ask if I can repair another artist's work or add/subtract findings or beads. I am not opposed to this, but prefer to handle on an individual basis depending upon the type of repair and my current workload.
What are shipping options? TOP
First Class Mail @ $3.00
Priority Mail @ $4.85 Federal Express (cost varies) upon request
International airmail @ $10.75 International Priority Mail @ $19.75
Insurance is always recommended, however insurance is unfortunately limited to international destinations and is possible only when mailing by Express Mail or International Priority Mail, per the USPS.
Insurance on domestic shipments is not limited. Insurance by Federal Express is limited to a value of $1000.00 only, per Federal Express.
Do you gift wrap and what are your services? TOP Yes! If you need to get a gift somewhere fast, I offer complimentary gift wrap and will provide a card with your special message. I will mail directly to your special person as soon as possible and definitely the next day. Although I quote Priority and First Class Mail, Federal Express is an option, too, at an additional cost. The Fed Ex shop is right down the street and I can get there quickly and early.
This service is complimentary except for the shipping cost, of course. Any questions about this, please email me: savaryis@comcast.net. Thanks!
What is your return policy? TOP I want you to be elated with your new piece of artisan jewelry. If you are not delighted with your purchase, I will refund your purchase price in full providing it is done within 14 days of purchase date. Shipping excepted. Do you work with wholesalers? TOP Yes. If you are a boutique or gallery, please inquire. I am currently working with a small number of upscale, select galleries and boutiques and would like to keep my exposure small and exclusive to only a select few. However, I would be delighted to hear from you and review your proposal. Please email me along with your tax ID number and I will send you a wholesale specs sheet if it seems like a match. My direct email is: savaryis@comast.net.
Pricing...some insight TOP Folks may wonder at my higher prices as compared to other handcrafted
lampwork bracelets on eBay and elsewhere. I thought it only prudent to
share a few thoughts about this. Unlike a hobbyist, I do this for a
living and as such, it is a very important part of my life. Although
when I first started out, I used beads of every calibre, I now only use
the best quality I can find. Swarovski crystals is about the 'cheapest'
bead I use and if you have visited a bead store, the teeny-tiny
Swarovski bicones can run 25 cents a piece. Swarovski, afterall. Famous
Austrian crystals. However, those are used only as background, to
punctuate a more important frame in a design. Lampwork beads which are
crafted in glass studios by artists here, in Europe & Australia
comprise a big part of my materials cost. The better known the
lampworker, the higher the price. I use a few artists who can easily
fetch $50 or more per bead! Most of my pieces combine work from 2 or
more lampwork artists. If you see a bracelet with a more modest price
tag from me, you can bet I paid a lower cost for the lampwork and/or
the artist has not yet been discovered. Finally, the gemstones I use
add a tremendous cost to the designs. But they are too much a part of
my signature style , that I would be sad and a bit lost to abandon
them. I find adding artisan glass with natural gems to be aesthetically
fascinating and beautiful, and a perfect joy to work with. I purchase
my sterling and vermeil findings/beads directly from the artists in
Thailand & Bali & am just starting to collect artisan, rouge
silver charms here, from silversmith/artists using the old wax
technique. Rather than being mass produced, they are each crafted and
have loads of character & style. And then the designs themselves -
take time, thought & are always one-of-a-kind and made by me. I
have yet to produce in multiples (too boring) and am not interested in
farming my work out, abroad, as so many do. I am happy to stay small
and personal and hands-on in all aspects of my business. To do anything
less would take a huge measure of enjoyment from the process of
designing while following my always potent 'muse.' That all said, I am
also in negotiation with some upscale clothing & accessory catalog
clothing lines for exclusive designs which would be produced en masse. Thank you so much for your interest in my
work! |
